# Quickstart

> Retrieve legal entities and query their transactions.

## 1. Get an API key

Open **Settings → API** in the Entendre dashboard and create a key. Store it in an environment variable named `ENTENDRE_API_KEY`.

## 2. List legal entities

```bash theme={null}
curl 'https://api.entendre.finance/v1/legal-entities' \
  --header "X-API-Key: $ENTENDRE_API_KEY"
```

Use the `id` of the legal entity you want from the returned `data` array.

## 3. Query transactions

Replace `<legal_entity_id>` with that ID:

```bash theme={null}
curl --get 'https://api.entendre.finance/v1/transactions' \
  --header "X-API-Key: $ENTENDRE_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode 'legal_entity_ids=<legal_entity_id>' \
  --data-urlencode 'limit=10'
```
